About the Journal

The Journal of Islamic Economics and Business (Tijaria) is a peer-reviewed journal from the Attarmasi Islamic Institute in Pacitan and managed by the Islamic Business Management study program of the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business. Tijaria was first published in 2026, but continues to strive to provide articles and writings that are beneficial to the general public. The journal is published twice a year, in June and December. The journal serves as a scientific platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and the general public interested in exploring developments in Islamic economics and business.

Tijaria welcomes a variety of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method methodological approaches to address contemporary issues, theoretical debates, and practical challenges in Islamic economics and business. The journal welcomes contributions from both Islamic and non-Islamic countries, particularly those where Islamic economic values are practiced, explored, or integrated into the public and private sectors. A key strength of the journal is its strong emphasis on interdisciplinary perspectives, combining insights from economics, business, and ethics within the framework of Maqasid al-Shariah (the objectives of Islamic law). Tijaria not only provides a space for empirical studies but also encourages the development of new conceptual models and contemporary Islamic economic thinking, particularly those that contribute to sustainability, digital transformation, and inclusive development.
